First impressions are we can easily monitor shortening usage through their Web Site and usage alerts have quickly shown us who is wasting shortening early. The managers love the system for its safety and ease of use. There is a cleanliness benefit also since shortening is not being transported throughout the store and to the dumpster areas.
RTI is our first choice in shortening management. Operationally the system is easy to use. We especially love the TOM reporting with seamless delivery of the new shortening and the pickup of the old. This system transforms kitchen cleanliness and issues of safety into a very desirable situation for employees.
We feel that the cost of the equipment is out-weighed by the ease of use and improved safety. I've listed some things below that we really like about the System:

Before we started with RTI, I thought that our stores were doing a good job in filtering. But once on the RTI System, I learned very quickly that it was not being done correctly every time. We are able to track our filtering process much closer than before which has reduced our shortening usage.
The RTI system helps us to accurately track our shortening usage and when the shortening is changed. It eliminates taking old shortening to the dumpster area and having to clean that area. Restaurants are cleaner and free of accidents caused by shortening spills. Our employees are happier and love the RTI system. We all know happy employees make better employees.
