Our History

RTI – An industry innovator

Restaurant Technologies, Inc. was developed by members of the RTI management team while at a predecessor company, Minnesota Valley Engineering (MVE). MVE was a manufacturer of vacuum insulated pressure vessels for the storage and distribution of cryogenic liquids and other products for the industrial, medical, and restaurant markets. This management team successfully developed and rolled-out bulk CO2 for beverage carbonation and bulk beverage syrup programs for MVE's restaurant division. Chart Industries, Inc. acquired MVE in April 1999, and in the same year Restaurant Technologies, Inc. spun-off in order to allow it to better concentrate on the continued development and market expansion of the MaxLife™ Solution.

In July 2007, RTI purchased Global Tier to expand on capabilities involving equipment monitoring utilized in our MaxLife™ Solution. Global Tier specializes in equipment monitoring, data management, and the delivery of performance indicators and exception notices. Global Tier was founded in 1999 by Matthew Jennings, whose vision was to help small-to medium-sized businesses optimize their IT investment by providing entrepreneurs and middle market companies the same level of strategic thinking and business process expertise that Fortune 500 firms received from their information technology providers.

Today, Restaurant Technologies, Inc. is leading the industry in improving operational profitability, quality, and safety. The company has depots located across the U.S., providing services to over 15,000 customers. RTI continues to grow at a dynamic pace, and is recognized as an industry pioneer for our technology, high-efficiency distribution, and service.
