Joe has been in technology leadership for 25 years, coming to RTI most recently from Best Logistics Group, where he served as CIO, contributing to revenue growth of 300% in 5 years. Prior to that Joe spent a decade as the VP of IT at Knight Transportation, one of the largest trucking companies in the country. By developing teams, processes and unifying technology with all business lines he drove the technology framework that positioned Knight to successfully merge with Swift in the biggest deal in trucking history. This kind of experience taught Joe a lot about staying calm, moving fast, and keeping people at the center of the work, which has always been Joe’s style. He’s a pragmatic, roll-up-your-sleeves leader who would rather be out talking to his team than sitting behind a desk. He believes the best technology solutions come from truly understanding the business, and has built his career around that idea.
His life long career in IT has enabled him to apply experience in all aspects from development, infrastructure, networking and security to his leadership abilities in creating successful and impactful technology teams. Joe brings extensive experience in M&A, business optimization and profitable revenue growth through technology. When he’s not thinking about IT strategy, you will find Joe outside — raising livestock, hunting and fishing, or out in his woodshop building something with his hands. Joe grew up in Arizona but transplanted to North Carolina seven years ago where he brought that same grounded, hardworking spirit to everything he does.
