New depot to improve cooking-oil logistics and service capabilities for California customers
MINNEAPOLIS – September 28, 2015 – Restaurant Technologies Inc. (RTI), the leader in smart, safe, sustainable cooking oil and operations management technology, recently combined two of its service depots into a 22,570-square-foot facility in Northern California. The new oil depot is projected to create 20 jobs in the Stockton area and is designed to better serve RTI customers across all key segments including restaurants, hotels, universities, groceries and healthcare facilities from Marin County to the Sierra Nevada.
“As our customer base in this region continues to grow, this depot consolidation will ensure that we can improve efficiencies and provide the level of service our customers have come to expect. We look forward to working with San Joaquin’s economic development team to continue our growth in this region,” said Jeff Kiesel, CEO, RTI.
“Stockton’s central location makes it a natural choice for Restaurant Technologies Inc. by offering quick and cost-efficient distribution of its restaurant oils to clients throughout California,” said Micah Runner, City of Stockton economic development director. “Plus, RTI’s food-grade oil management and delivery services align with Stockton’s economic development strategic plan in attracting and retaining food processors and distributors. The city is pleased to welcome RTI to their new facility in south Stockton.”
RTI can expand its fleet and deploy more service technicians throughout the area with the new, larger depot, enabling the Northern California team to deliver oil and respond to service calls faster, so they are on site exactly when customers need them.
RTI currently serves more than 45,000+ customers through 40 depots across the United States. The RTI solution offers a fully automated oil storage, handling and disposal management system to make any back-of-house operation more efficient, safe and sustainable. In addition, it eliminates one of the most unpleasant and dangerous jobs in the foodservice industry, now making it as easy as flipping a switch.
The RTI system comes with all the hardware, software, installation, training and support services to easily automate cooking-oil management. RTI also handles the disposal and recycling of used cooking oil, turning used oil into biodiesel.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome RTI to Stockton. As part of Northern California’s distribution hub, our region is attracting more technology-driven logistics companies with sophisticated robotic systems requiring higher skilled employees,” said Michael Ammann, president and CEO of the San Joaquin Partnership. “Thanks to our community partners, Tim Mustin and Bob Taylor of Jones Lang LaSalle, the City of Stockton, and the Stockton Visitors and Convention Bureau, who assisted RTI in making the decision to locate to Stockton.”
