Custom Burgers, Meet Consistent Fries
The Counter® boasts 312,000 burger options, but wants one fry for all
MINNEAPOLIS – April 4, 2012 – Customer choice is the order of the day – every day – at The Counter®, whose build-your-own-burger franchises stretch from the Sunset Strip to Times Square. But when it comes to keeping high-quality oil in the restaurants’ fryers, the preferred choice for franchise owners is Restaurant Technologies, Inc® (RTI).
The Counter franchisees, loyal clients of RTI, recently added the company’s new fryer filtration monitoring technology to their Total Oil Management™ solution from RTI. Besides helping serve up some of the best french fries, sweet potato fries and onion strings in the country at The Counter, RTI’s innovative solution allows franchise owners to monitor each of their restaurants’ compliance with standard operating procedures for frying.
“RTI is a trusted partner for the franchise community because we’re both dedicated to continuous innovation and customer service,” said franchisee Steven Gruman. “The addition of fryer filtration monitoring to The Counter’s existing RTI oil management solution helps maintain the high consistency of our fried products, and extends the life of the oil through filtration.”
RTI’s fryer filtration monitoring technology collects data from sensors in the fryer, and feeds insights directly to the customer’s online Total Oil Management™ customer portal. There, users like Gruman can easily identify and determine corrective actions for any deviations from standard operating procedures. Gruman can also view oil usage across all restaurant locations, and then can compare that information against The Counter’s proven best practices.
The RTI Total Oil Management™ system is comprised of two space-conscious tanks in the restaurant’s kitchen – one for fresh oil and one for waste oil – and a secure outdoor fill box. Fresh and waste oil lines run between the fryer and tanks inside to an exterior fill box. RTI collects and recycles all waste oil on behalf of customers like The Counter.
“The Counter continues to partner with us for oil management solutions because they see the value in our automated service,” said Jeff Kiesel, chief executive officer, RTI. “The Counter is a smart organization with aggressive growth goals. Our visibility tools align with their business strategy and constant attention to high quality.”
Anti-established in 2003, The Counter® is the 21st century’s bold answer to the classic burger joint, offering a fresh, unconventional approach to the American tradition of creating the ultimate premium burger with its inviting industrial décor, today’s music and outstanding food in a laid-back family atmosphere.
